SWARTZ FAMILY BREAKS WITH HUSBAND, VOICES SUSPICIONS IN DEATH OF DAUGHTER JUSTINE SWARTZ ABSHIRE Parents Note Contradictions In Eric Abshire's Recounting of Events CULPEPER, Va. - May 21, 2007 - The family of Justine Swartz Abshire is concerned that they are not getting a full and accurate account of the events of the night their daughter died, and has expressed concern that Eric Abshire has not been as forthcoming or cooperative as they would like to see. "We've lost confidence in him and are feeling increasingly uncomfortable with his lack of cooperation and our inability to get straight answers from him about that night," said Stephen Swartz, Justine's father. The family notes that it was highly out of character for Justine to be out late at night, particularly on an evening when she was sick. They also said that it just doesn't make sense that she would leave on a cold November evening without a coat. "Right after she died, we questioned why she would get out of her car on such a remote, dark road when Eric was on the way to help her. At first Eric told us that her car was pulled over on the side of the road with the trunk open when he arrived on the scene. Later he told us that he never saw her car and didn't know where it was on Taylorsville Road," said Heidi Swartz, Justine's mother. "There are just too many inconsistencies that we don't understand." The Swartz family is committed to finding out the truth about the circumstances and events on the night of their daughter's death.
